Angela Maiers Educational Svcs: Who has the Acronym pedia?

    TWRC is my favorite, although it is not technicnally an acronym because "TWRC" is not a real word. However, it sounds like a real word if you make it rhyme with "work." I use it to teach readers that they need to Think, Wonder, Reflect, and Connect while they read. These four words can just about cover any of the popular reading strategies and it is easy for students to remember and apply (after modeling of course). They also like to say, "I'm here to work hard and TWRC hard" and that is just music to my ears because it demonstrates their eagerness to learn!
