Angela Maiers Educational Svcs: Students, students...look at what I learned today!

  • Damien Riley · 2 months ago
This is a wonderful post. Unfortunately for me, I had them shouting out of turn all day ... I'll have to work on that so I can enjoy their wonder again ;) Only kidding around, thanks for this reminder.

It is a reminder to us all! I worked with students this week creating a space and place to harvest our questions. Students know can share their wonderings throughout the day as teachers have made spaces on the wall, at learning centers, and even individual wonder boxes for students to keep close. Simple moves- big message: YOUR QUESTIONS ARE VALUED HERE!

I'm going to stick this above my desk. What a great affirmation:

I may never be Albert Einstein, but I can think like him, and he was really really good at being curious.

I like what you say about adults not slowing down and enjoying the world around them. Sometimes a LOT of people forget that. I hope to calm down and enjoy the world when I get older too.

What you write here is so true, we lost the ability to enjoy simple things such as sunrising or learning details about people. Children are the best, they make you feel more alive. You're lucky to work with them.

    Miranda-
Like so many of the readers have commented. We can learn so much from students. They remind us that to live life wide awake, to wonder, and notice is to be happy! We are all lucky to be in their presence!
