My heart goes out to you. I know the pain of loved ones being sick and the pain of losing them. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm sorry for this sad turn of events, Angela. Yet what a comfort to be surrounded by people who will care for you and your grandmother!

I'm very sorry to hear about your grandma. My own grandma died last year (I was her namesake) after a brief battle with Alzheimers. It's not an easy thing to go through. You and your family are in my thoughts.

So sorry to hear about your grandmother. Will pray for a time of peace as you go through next few weeks. Went through that with my mother & wouldn't wish it on anyone, BUT I was grateful for time to spend with her and have long talks before she passed away.

Also, thanks so much for sharing that quote from the hospital, Angela! Isn't that just like you? To find that gem in the midst of your sorrow. Just reminds us how important building relationships with our students really is. That should be a our FIRST "intention" when we teach, huh?

    Take care,
    Michelle

    Friends,
Thank you so much for your prayers and well wishes. They mean more than you'll ever know. My grandmother has slipped into a comma, and her doctors are saying she will pass peacefully and pain free very soon. I am at peace knowing that she will be reuniting with her "angel"; her love of 57 years-my Grandfather Charlie! Bless you all for keeping my family in your thoughts.

I am so impressed with the way you incorporate all of learning in your blog, Angela. Knowing that you care so much about who the students become as human beings makes your teaching that much more powerful. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!

Kathy-thank you so much for the kind words. I am not sure who said this, but I believe that kids (and grownups, too) care more about who you are than what you know. Blessings!
